My Utopia...Fiona Jane

This season, we chat with a series of inspiring tastemakers who tell us about their vision of utopia, to coincide with our Spring-Summer 2023 collection: Memories of Utopia. Next up is rock’n’roll muse and girl about town, Fiona Jane. London based, Copenhagen-born, Fiona is a multifaceted artist and DJ, with a natural flair for style. Whether appearing at Paris Fashion Week, Cannes Film Festival, Ibiza or at Burning Man, Fiona always leaves a distinct and personal impression, intuitively connecting the dots between music, fashion and alternative culture.
Fiona’s eclectic sets have soundtracked parties for some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Dior, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Emilio Pucci and Vogue, taking her across the globe throughout the last decade or more.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEA OF UTOPIA...

It's a feeling when you have landed at the right place in time or the feeling of being on the right path, that things are just meant to be as they are. Also Burning Man 2016: when I went for the first time to the desert. DJ’ing there was just an unreal, out of this world experience.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE?

I would travel to Japan to go record shopping, and get some 80's Japanese music.

NAME A BOOK THAT ENCAPSULATES UTOPIA TO YOU...

Just Kids by Patti Smith, currently on my bedside table.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR UTOPIAN SOUNDTRACK?
Disco-house tunes with a melodic retro twist.
WHO WOULD YOU TAKE TO YOUR UTOPIA?
My Sennheiser headphones & TD-3 analog bass line in yellow!
WHAT ENAMBLES YOU TO THINK COMPLETELY FREELY?
It’s a mindset, I feel free (especially when I travel), and believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. There are no limits.

TELL US ABOUT A CURRENT ASSION PROJECT OF YOURS THAT ENABLES TRUE ESCAPISM...

I am focusing on DJing events, parties, clubs and festivals around the world, and I am currently on the journey of music making which I’m very fascinated about. I am curious to see where that will take me.

I study Music Production at London Sound Academy, and will hopefully share some of my music this year. In February I launched my new event concept TRUE DAZE during London Fashion Weeks - an experimental music project, experience and community, where I invite DJs I admire to play with me.

Behind the scenes - and perhaps not many people know this about me - my background is in fashion and marketing. I’ve had every kind of destiny: model, stylist, fashion blogger, filmmaker, event curator, photographer, you name it.

In lockdown 2020 I launched my creative agency and music collective, where I continue to do musical and cultural projects on the side of my music career. I work specifically with luxury brands, hospitality & private clients to gather the right musical direction, brand consultancy for fashion shows, brand launches, or parties. We connect the dots between music and fashion supporting female talents.

The impossible... if that’s a taste…

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIECES FROM HAYLEY'S SS23 COLLECTION, MEMORIES OF UTOPIA?

That is hard to say but I think all the pieces in the shoot. I love the cardigan especially, and the t-shirt was really cool too! I also wore the sparkly set for a gig last week and it was super comfy to play in!
