As we enter the festive holidays, who better to be our next guest on the Joy Journal than the colour-loving, print-obsessive, eternally sparkly Zeena Shah?
An award-winning print designer by training, Zeena is also a stylist, author, presenter, illustrator and self-confessed fashion and interiors aficionado. As well as leading her own design workshops in East London, Zeena has collaborated with a myriad of brands on creative projects – from John Lewis to Whistles and Longchamp among others. Now her third book, Marbling, is out to inspire us to have a go at this ancient craft that epitomises everything we love about print and colour.
We went to visit Zeena in her dreamy pink wonderland of a home on a snowy day to talk about bubble baths, spice girls and far-flung travels.

I am definitely a city girl! I love the country side but I couldn’t give up the big smoke.

Oh gosh, I am lucky enough to have been on some incredible trips.
One of the most adventurous was backpacking around India - it was a feast for the eyes and so inspiring to celebrate such an amazing culture and heritage.

WHAT RECENT ACHIEVEMENT MADE YOU FEEL LIKE A POWERHOUSE?
Writing my book Marbling! I’m so thrilled to be able to reinvigorate this endangered craft and inspire colour and creative confidence!
WHAT DO YOU HOPE THE STARS HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU OVER THE COMING MONTHS?
Some rest! After quite a busy year I’m really looking forward to slowing down and taking some time to rest in January before heading straight into some very exciting projects!
DESCRIBE YOUR WILDEST LOOK EVER (GOOD OR BAD)?
Oh gosh this is a hard one it’s definitely something colourful and bright with feathers!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE FROM THE RETURN OF THE SPACE COWGIRL COLLECTION?
All of it? I just love the printed quilt dress, it’s such a special piece and as a print designer myself I’m drawn to the stunning print and colour combinations.
